Healthy snacking: sweet gummy snakes

Do you have a sweet tooth? The good news is that gummy sweets can also be healthy! You don’t need to think twice when it comes to our homemade raspberry and banana fruit leather: the only ingredient is finely puréed fruit. Once dried out in the oven, the fruit purée has the consistency of gummy sweets. Just as tasty as gummy bears, but much healthier. It makes snacking fun!

You will need the following ingredients for your sweet gummy snakes:

  • 300 g raspberries
  • 1 banana

Here’s what to do:

  1. Peel the banana, chop into small pieces, and purée it with the raspberries in a measuring cup or a bowl using a handheld blender.
  2. Spread a 5-mm layer of the purée onto a baking sheet lined with baking paper and dry in the oven at 50 to 60°C for about five hours.
  3. Using a clean scissors, cut the baking paper into strips, remove the paper and roll up the gummy snakes.

Our tip: Mangos, apples or a combination of bananas and strawberries also add a delicious flavour to your fruit leather. If you like a crunchier taste, simply add some finely chopped nuts, flaxseeds or chia seeds to the fruit purée before drying.
