DIY energy bar: a blueberry and chia snack

Your stomach is rumbling but before you treat yourself to something tasty, you really want to fit in a quick exercise session. Sound familiar? Energy bars are the perfect solution, as they provide the body with a rapid boost of energy and banish hunger pangs without making you feel sluggish. In our snack recipe today, we show you how you can prepare your own fruity blueberry chia energy bar.

You will need the following ingredients:

  • 1 small bowl of blueberries
  • 130 g ground almonds
  • 2 tbsp chia seeds
  • 2 tbsp mineral water
  • 1 tbsp honey

Here’s what to do:

  1. Combine the almonds, chia seeds, honey and water well.
  2. Mix in the blueberries.
  3. Form the mixture into bars and place them on a small board.
  4. Decorate with chia seeds and desiccated coconut and place in the fridge for two hours.

Our tip: Your energy bars will keep for up to five days in a sealed, airtight container. So you have a healthy snack right at your fingertips for the next energy slump.
